SPOILER WARNING: 3.4 Segue: We Choose the Sky
I will be talking about Wuthering Waves' latest main quest story and possibly the last/closing Lahai-Roi arc, 3.4 segue: "We Choose the Sky". Screenshots are personally taken by me and contain major spoilers of the quest. Please proceed with caution.

It's been quite days since the newest quest has been released and frankly, I wasn't in the mood yet to continue the story, seeing as I'm still not over with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collab quest lol. But anyways, I finally sat down and locked in, and finally finished the remaining quest 2 days ago.
I'll be honest, I don't remember much of the story since basically it's like a wrapping up type of thing for the Lahai-Roi arc. I wasn't expecting much (and yet, look at what happened with Denia's segue) and wanted to get over with it. The cameo of the majority of Lahai-Rai casts did not disappoint either, though it would be nice if Luuk also appeared instead of just being mentioned a few times LOL
The whole segment of students welcoming Aalto, the cameo of Mischa from Lucilla's Resonator preview video and mind you she was showing off her singing skills but it was sadly not voiced, and the funky guy who's busting out his dance moves in front of him and THEN winking at Aalto — oh my god, it was so funny. I was unable to take any screenshots during the scenario since I was busy giggling the whole time. I also loved the NPC siblings, Lixian and Liheng.
I was also pleasantly surprised that Kuro Games implemented a whole new gimmick — the whole picture thing game mechanic — which was a very unique experience for me while playing a free gacha game. It felt very interactive; I mean, just look at this:
It was so funny when Lucilla asked Rover to screenshot the picture she sent on the WavesLine and she literally screenshotted their whole convo, hence the whole distorted WavesLine message shown. The way we go through the location from the picture is so unique, the perspective actually changes. I've also read that Kuro Games really did the whole thing out of love and I truly appreciate them about this. It felt interactive and special somehow.
And not to mention that Lucilla just took the cutest photo of Rover, and just like a true photogenic and photography master, Lucilla was very fussy when it comes to instructing Rover on where to go and what to do. And poor Rover got so grumpy, she literally pouted LOL it's so cute. It isn't clear because of the width and height restrictions of my blog so it won't overlap, but just look at a grumpy, pouting Rover:
And of course, President Lucilla got us the copy of Rover's awkward ass in front of the camera. I swear I clicked on the smile + pose option, but I guess Lucilla purposely captured it earlier than expected, hence the awkward pose. But it's cute LOL.
Now on to the whole story: there were times where I admittedly felt sad and teared up, especially on the flashbacks that Lucilla had with her previous student Amiya. The way she was depicted as the giant Soliskin (spoiler: she took from her spacecraft!) and asking her beloved professor if she could see her up in the sky.
The whole message of the segue is clear: the Synchronists, the whole humanity, are willing to risk their lives in order to challenge the sky once more. They already know the risks and losses they faced the moment the Synchronists signed up for their courses and that's also the risk they're willing to take. For humanity. And I think it's a nice message to portray, the sheer determination and willpower of how humans can be.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity and took it myself to have Denia enjoy watching the sky full of stars, in contrast to what she's possibly experiencing right now in the void.
But overall, I'm glad that the committee and President Lucilla were able to settle on an agreement, and that Rabelle College's Synchronist program could continue. I'd say it's a pretty nice way to end the Lahai-Roi arc, under a sky full of stars.
I wonder what Mengzhou will bring. I can't wait!!
